The Building Industry Comparative Index (BICI) compares building industry performance across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia. BICI synthesises information from 16 key cost and risk variables in commercial, industrial, retail and major residential building projects. 

It collates this data for each of the four States, providing a transparent comparison of industry competitiveness over time. BICI presents a simple set of numbers. It is an objective research tool that generates independent, credible information to allow informed and rational consideration of the building sector in four States.

What is BICI?

BICI is an initiative of Victoria's Building Industry Consultative Council, a high-level tripartite forum whose members are drawn from peak employer groups, trade unions, individual employers and the State Government.
